Assessor Handbook This is the all new version of the handbook. We will also publish any future revisions here and alert you to them through the news section.
A to Z This appendix to the Assessor's Handbook is intended to be a handy guide with advice about applications from different types of group and for different types of project, based on other Assessors' experiences and on the Grants Committee's approach to them as they occur. We intend this to be a growing resource and will update the A to Z with new entries on a regular basis. The updated versions will be published here on the website.
Briefing Paper (Film and Video Production) A short guide to what's involved in filmaking, to assist with the assessment of applications for camera equipment, production costs etc. from community groups.
(Pre-School and Out of School Care Voluntary Sector Groups in Scotland) We have produced this paper with help from the Scottish Pre-School Play Association and the Scottish Out of School Care Network. It contains useful information on the context in which some of our applicants are working and is intended to assist Assessors when carrying out assessments in this field. Note that it does not contain any policy direction information - the Grants Committee will continue to consider all applications from these groups on their own merits - but the paper may help Assessors establish the level of need for a grant in any particular instance. Thanks to the Scottish Out of School Care Network for allowing us to include their 'Brief Overview' as part of this document.

Minimum for Impact The assessors who participated in the September 2006 training day produced definitions of Minimum for impact. They took into account the different things that could contribute to answering this question.
Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) Guide to Using the Report In future, with each application we send you to assess, you will also receive an SIMD printout based on the postcode of the project. This is intended to give you more information about the local area and help you in your assessment, particularly regarding the strength of need for the project.
