Nick joined the Foundation in 2003, playing a lead role in getting the Fair Share Trust grants programme up and running within the Foundation before becoming Grants Director in 2006. He now manages the delivery of all our grantmaking activities and works with our partners to develop new programmes and initiatives. In his previous life Nick worked in the Scottish Borders helping to develop and promote local events and festivals. He has a degree in philosophy and is a volunteer board member of community arts groups in the Borders, Carlisle and Glasgow.

Sian has recently taken on the role of Senior Grants Officer.  Her previous remit was to support and develop the local panels established through the Big Lottery Fund Fair Share Trust. Sian has a community development and grantmaking background and has previously worked for the Big Lottery Fund as a Grants Officer as well as a variety of voluntary sector projects throughout Central Scotland.

Sian currently serves as a volunteer committee member with the Glasgow Hebridean Choir and is volunteer funding adviser to her local Public Hall committee. Sian has a degree in Politics and Sociology and is hoping to embark on a Law degree in the near future. In her spare time, Sian relaxes by tracing her family roots and walking her dogs at the local beach.

Margaret has just joined the team after 10 years working for East Ayrshire Council in a community development setting. This included working with a range of voluntary /community organisations and grant management (monitoring). Margaret has a degree in Sociology and Philosophy and a postgraduate in Community Education.

Out of work she is a volunteer member of the Merrylee out of School Care Project. Margaret ran this years Glasgow half marathon for the first time and has signed up for the Loch Ness 10K!

Originally from Torphins in Aberdeenshire, Helen moved to Glasgow in 1996 to attend Glasgow Caledonian University.  After a spell travelling around South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the Cook Islands Helen returned to Scotland in 2003 when she joined the foundation.    During her time at the Foundation Helen has held various positions before becoming a Senior Grants Officer in April of 2008.

As part of her role Helen looks after the Fair Share area of Maybole in South Ayrshire and the Kilfinan Fund. 

When not working Helen enjoys swimming, hill walking and running. Helen has taken part in the Caledonian Challenge twice to raise funds for the Scottish Community Foundation.    She is also a volunteer with the Campsie Civic Trust.


                        Annabel Bath

Annabel Bath recently joined the Foundation in April 2008.  Prior to this she had worked for the Scottish Museums Council, and more recently, the Heritage Lottery Fund where she worked for almost 6 years.  Annabel is experienced at providing funding advice to local groups and managing outreach activities to ensure funding gets to where it is most needed.   

Annabel is the main contact for the Women’s Fund for Scotland, the Kinross-shire Fund and the Lifescan Fund.  She also manages two Fair Share Trust panels in South Lanarkshire and Greater Pollok.  Annabel is based in the Foundation’s Edinburgh office.

Ros joined the Foundation as a Grants Officer in July 2005.   Having first studied music and then secretarial studies with languages (Spanish and German) she came to community development by way of being a community activist in Edinburgh and a part time administration job with an Urban Aid project in the early 1990s. 

She then went on to a development worker post with the Wester Hailes Representative Council where she was part of the team for 10 years.  It is this experience of community development that brings her to the Foundation in a move from being a grantee to a granter!  As well as the general grants programme, Ros works with Fair Share Trust Panels in Glasgow and Dundee, the Sky Bigger Picture Fund, Stratherrick and Foyers and Earlsburn Community Benefit funds and also has responsibility for the Fair Share Trust and Volunteer Assessors’ newsletters.

In her spare time, Ros enjoys reading, silver-smithing and walking the Forth and Clyde and Union Canals with her husband, teenage daughter and dog.

Jennifer joined the Foundation in February of 2005 as Grants Administrator recently being promoted to Grants Officer.  As well as the responsibility for the running of the Open Grants Programme, she is the main contact for Sport Relief, Sky Bigger Picture Fund and the June Hume Memorial Fund.  Previously, she worked for Millar and Bryce Limited for three years, setting up Limited Companies and Charities.

 

When not working, Jennifer enjoys running.  She has completed the Glasgow Women’s 10K run in 2006/07/08 and the Loch Ness 10k in October 07.


Rachel Searle-Mbullu

Rachel joined the Foundation in April 2008. Her background in teaching, training, facilitation and community development has laid the basis for her particular interest in and commitment to evaluation, learning and impact. Rachel has worked with a diverse range of international, national and grassroots community organisations in the UK, Kenya, Palestine and most recently South Africa.

 

Rachel is the main contact for the MacDonald Fund and the Spurness Community Benefit Fund. She supports the Community Investment Programme and manages two Fair Share Trust panels in Linwood and Dumbarton Road Corridor. Rachel is based in the Foundation's Glasgow office.

Gloria has come to us from a background of working with community groups.  Having originally studied for a B Ed in Sussex she has particular interest in ICT and multimedia.  

Her voluntary sector work has been varied and has included working with a professional theatre company as well as spending the past 7 years working exclusively with local groups in order to increase their sustainability.

Sandra has just recently joined the Foundation in April 2008 in a part time adminstrative role.  Sandra is responsible for co-ordinating all the applications requesting funding from the open grants programme. As such she is the first point of contact for any grant enquiries.
